Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad
While on board the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, passengers will pass fertile farmlands, old stagecoach roads, the breathtaking "Highline", the remote Tacoma Power Plant, old mining camps, and be in the shadow of peaks. The train will also cross the Animas river five times on its journey to Silverton, offering spectacular views from both sides of the train.
Carrying up to 258 passangers, the train has many amenities making the journey more relaxing. Along with the Seating cars, the train is comprised of a concession car, restrooms, and a train car with a wheelchair-accessible restroom and lift service. There is no smoking on board the train.

Alamosa Parlor Car- Features table and chair lounge-style seating. An exclusive outdoor viewing platform. For ages 21 and over.
Silver Vista- Narrow gauge glass-roofed observation car. Oversized seats that offer the most legroom of any car on the line. A private outdoor viewing platform is also exclusive to this class. Please note, this is an open-air car, so please dress for possible changing weather. For ages 16 and over.
Deluxe Class
Prospector- Upscale coach most recently refurbished car in our fleet. Features comfortable table and chair style seating. The car is staffed with an attendant to assist with all your needs and questions. Passengers receive a souvenir mug and complimentary non-alcoholic beverages for the duration of the trip.
San Juan Coach- Closed-vestibuled coach from 1887 features roomy, reversible, overstuffed seating in a wide three-across arrangement. Passengers receive a complimentary souvenir mug to fill in the concession car. For ages 12 and over.
Rio Grande Open Observation- Roomier, open-air observation gondola. Features comfortable and larger overstuffed seats with more expansive viewing windows. Passengers receive a complimentary souvenir mug to fill in the concession car. For ages 12 and over.
Historic Narration Coach- Offers guests a journey to Silverton enhanced by narration to point out the many notable, historic and picturesque points along the route. The Narrators will bring the history of your trip ALIVE!
Standard Class
Open-Air Gondola- Bench-style seating accommodates five across. Because of the changing mountain climate and the increase in elevation from Durango to Silverton, we strongly encourage you to dress in layers of clothing.
Coach Seating- Seat width in Standard class is equal to the industry standard of an economy class plane seat. Extra space seating is available for an additional charge. Please talk to your reservation agent regarding these options.
