Stunning Victoria Falls is a highlight of many Zambia tours, plummeting more than 360 feet into the Zambezi Gorge. In the 19th century, the Kololo tribe described the falls as "Mosi-oa-Tunya" -- "the smoke that thunders."

Travelers may also visit South Luangwa National Park, where guided walks or excursions in four-wheel-drive vehicles reveal the park's rich variety of wildlife. Among the possible sightings in South Luangwa are lions, leopards, vervet monkeys, impalas and baboons. In Lower Zambezi National Park, visitors can observe elephants, buffalo, waterbucks and hippos roaming along the riverbanks.
