Day 1 Your Journey Begins

Day 2 Cairo at leisure
Welcome to Egypt - a timeless land, furnished with ancient temples and tombs. On arrival at Cairo Airport, you are met and transferred to one of the best hotels in Cairo.
Day 3 Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza
Venture out to Giza for a face-to-face meeting with the Sphinx and guided tour of the pyramids. Journey deep into the heart of one of these ancient wonders, to stand in the royal burial chamber. Return to Cairo for a visit to the Egyptian Museum, housing the priceless artefacts recovered from the tomb of Tutankhamun. In the evening, get to know your Tour Director over a welcome drink. Later, as night falls, return to Giza to attend a magical Sound & Light Show at the world famous pyramids, which literally illuminates the ancient history of Giza.(BB / WR)
Day 4 Nubian Aswan and Tea on the Terrace
Board your flight to exotic Aswan, a favourite winter resort on account of its superb climate and scenery. Drive out to the modern High Dam and visit the granite quarries where an unfinished obelisk still lies attached to the bedrock. Take a motorboat to the lyrical Temples of Philae, rising from the waters of the Nile. Later, catch the gentle breezes and river currents aboard a felucca; these traditional sailboats have plied the Nile since ancient times. As a special welcome, enjoy colonial-style high tea at the Old Cataract Hotel before embarking your cruise ship.(BB / L / AT / D)
Day 5 Cruising to Kom Ombo and Edfu
(Relaxed Start) This morning is at leisure. Maybe take an optional experience to Abu Simbel, by air? These magnificent temples were cut from their hillside origin in the 1960's and repositioned above the waterline of the newly created Lake Nasser. Later, cruise to Kom Ombo and visit the only double temple in Egypt, dedicated to two gods: the crocodile-headed Sobek and falcon-headed Horus the Elder. Continue on, past irrigated fields and palm-fringed villages to Edfu. Celebrate Egyptian-style this evening, at a galabeya party and dinner.(BB / L / SE)
Day 6 Cruising the Nile to Luxor
After breakfast, enjoy a visit to the beautifully preserved Temple of Horus, the Falcon God. Witness the grandiose set of reliefs depicting the ritual in which Horus defeated his arch enemy, Seth. Sail on through the lock at Esna and downstream to Luxor. On arrival, visit the temple of Luxor, lost for centuries beneath the streets of the town.(BB / L / D)
Day 7 The Valley of the Kings, Karnak and Cairo
Drive over to the west bank of the Nile for a photo stop at the towering Colossi of Memnon. Next, visit the reconstructed Temple of Hatshepsut - one of the few female rulers in Ancient Egypt. Continue to the Valley of the Kings, the burial place of many of the New Kingdom Pharaohs, including Tutankhamun. Venture underground into some of the royal tombs before visiting a working bakery to witness the local artisans creating authentic Egyptian bread. Return to Luxor and the amazing temple complex of Karnak. Among its splendours is the vast Hypostyle Hall, the largest of any temple in the world. Later, transfer to the airport to board your flight back to Cairo.(BB)
Day 8 Depart Cairo
Your amazing journey concludes today, with transfers to the airport.(BB)
