Meet in Toulouse and transfer to ‘Saint Louis,’ moored at Lacourt-Saint-Pierre. After a champagne reception, visit nearby Montech where an artisan distillerie produces liqueurs made from local fruits. Return to the barge for a gourmet dinner on board.(D)

Day 2: SUNDAY
After breakfast, visit Montauban, a city of art and culture with cobbled streets, a lovely square and a 13th-century bridge. Later, cruise to the beautiful port city of Castelsarrasin by way of the Montech Water Slope.(B,L,D)

Day 3: MONDAY
‘Saint Louis’ descends four locks to cross the River Tarn by way of a brick aqueduct, almost 100 feet over the river. Visit the Romanesque gem of Abbaye St-Pierre de Moissac, with its ancient church and magnificent cloisters.(B,L,D)

Day 4: TUESDAY
Cruise lovely countryside today — with rolling hills to the right and the River Garonne to the left. The barge moors at the quiet port of Pommevic for lunch and an excursion to Auvillar, one of France’s most lovely villages, historically known for its export of pottery and writing quills.(B,L,D)

Day 5: WEDNESDAY
This morning, cruise through the market town of Valence d’Agen, continuing to peaceful Lamagistere where ‘Saint Louis’ moors during lunch. In Donzac this afternoon, visit the conservatory of regional crafts, continuing to the stone-built 13th-century village of Dunes with its pretty half-timbered houses.(B,L,D)

Day 6: THURSDAY
Visit Clermont-Soubiran today for a walk around the château. After lunch, cruise to the provincial town of Agen. Once a crossroads on the road connecting the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, Agen is best known for its world-famous prunes grown in nearby villages. Back on board ‘Saint Louis’ this evening, enjoy a festive farewell dinner.(B,L,D)

Day 7: FRIDAY
After breakfast, transfer to Toulouse where your journey ends.(B)
